COTABATO CITY – After thorough study and planning, the rehabilitation of the Old City Hall of Cotabato is set to begin in 2026, transforming the historic building into the first-ever museum of Cotabato City.
The second floor of the structure will house the former City Library, which will once again be open to anyone eager to learn and explore. Meanwhile, the ground floor will feature artifacts and exhibits showcasing the history and growth of Cotabato City.
The project is envisioned to serve as a new destination for students, youth, and visitors who wish to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of the city’s rich heritage and culture.
According to Mayor Para sa Lahat Mohammad Ali “Bruce” C. Matabalao, the Para sa Lahat Administration will strive to restore the building’s original appearance from the 1940s. Not only in design but also by using authentic construction materials reminiscent of its era.
