As part of the City Government of Cotabato’s continued efforts to address housing needs and promote inclusive urban development, the City Project and Monitoring Committee conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction of fifty (50) housing units under the Resettlement Housing Project located in Mother Barangay Tamontaka.
The inspection, held on Tuesday, July 8, served to assess the progress and quality of the project implementation. The committee, composed of technical representatives from various city departments, emphasized the importance of ensuring that all housing units meet safety and construction standards, particularly in providing durable and disaster-resilient shelters for vulnerable families.
According to the City Engineering Office, the project is currently on track, with significant portions of the housing structures nearing completion. Once finished, these units will be awarded to families displaced by natural calamities and urban clearing operations—giving them access to secure, affordable, and dignified homes.
City officials reiterated their commitment to transparency, accountability, and timely delivery of public infrastructure projects. Regular site visits like this form part of the government’s strengthened monitoring mechanisms, ensuring that all stakeholders—from contractors to beneficiaries—are kept informed and involved.
This resettlement initiative aligns with the broader development agenda of Mayor Bruce Matabalao’s administration, focusing on sustainable housing solutions, social welfare, and inclusive growth for all Cotabateños.
