COTABATO CITY — The residents of Barangay Bagua 2 joyfully celebrated the 1st Araw ng Bagua 2, a milestone event that highlighted the unity, progress, and rich cultural heritage of the community.

The celebration was graced by Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao and Vice Mayor Sultan Johair Madag, together with members of the 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod, barangay officials, and representatives from various sectors.

In his message, Mayor Matabalao commended the leadership of Barangay Bagua 2 for organizing the event and for their continuous efforts in promoting peace, development, and community participation. He emphasized that the local government remains committed to supporting grassroots initiatives that strengthen solidarity and improve the quality of life for every Cotabateño.

The day’s festivities featured a series of activities, including a thanksgiving program, community performances, and recognition of outstanding residents who have contributed to the growth and progress of the barangay.

The 1st Araw ng Bagua 2 serves not only as a celebration of history and identity but also as a reminder of the shared vision of the people of Bagua 2 — to build a community founded on cooperation, resilience, and inclusivity.
