Cotabato City – The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) led the opening of the 2nd Bangsamoro Housing and Human Settlements Forum on October 7, 2025, in Cotabato City.
The forum gathered representatives from various government agencies, local government units, and development partners to discuss key issues on housing and human settlements, including urban planning, financing, sustainability, and green housing initiatives.

During the opening program, Cotabato City Mayor Para sa Lahat Mohammad Ali “Bruce” C. Matabalao, through OIC Administrator Mahaleah Midtimbang, PhD, delivered his message emphasizing that decent and affordable housing serves as a cornerstone of peace and development in the Bangsamoro region.
“Adequate housing is a symbol of dignity and security for every family. When every Bangsamoro has a home of their own, our communities become stronger and more resilient,” Mayor Matabalao’s message stated.
The forum aims to generate concrete recommendations and collaborative strategies to ensure that every Bangsamoro has access to safe, decent, and sustainable housing.
Through this initiative, the MHSD and its partners reaffirm their commitment to promoting inclusive and sustainable human settlements as part of the continuing progress of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
