COTABATO CITY — Fire Victims Receive Financial Assistance from City Government

In a compassionate effort to support families affected by recent fire incidents, the Cotabato City Government, through the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), distributed cash assistance to victims from various barangays. The distribution was held at the People’s Palace.

According to OCSWDO, the aid was categorized based on the level of damage sustained by each household:

  • Php 15,000 was granted to those whose homes suffered minor damages,
  • Php 20,000 was given to victims with major damages, and
  • Php 30,000 was provided to families whose entire homes were completely destroyed by fire.

Losing a home is undeniably one of the most difficult and painful challenges a family can face. In light of this, the local government encourages all residents to remain vigilant and practice fire safety at all times—especially when using appliances, electrical devices, and other fire-prone items.

This assistance is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to provide immediate relief and support to its constituents in times of crisis, ensuring that no one is left behind in the recovery process.
