
Cotabato City, May 1, 2025 — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) commemorated the 123rd Labor Day with a series of events that highlighted the invaluable contributions of its workforce to the region’s development and peace-building efforts.
Chief Minister’s Address
Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua led the celebrations, delivering a speech that emphasized the essential role of Bangsamoro workers in promoting peace, prosperity, and inclusive growth. He stated, “Today, we pay tribute to the lifeblood of our economy—the steady hands and determined hearts of our labor force.”

Today, we celebrate the 123rd Labor Day, an important day to honor all the workers who contribute to the progress of our city and country. On this day, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you—parents, teachers, industrial workers, farmers, and all those in the labor sector who continue to serve and sustain our community.
Workers are the true pillars of our society. Your hard work, perseverance, and dedication drive our city toward progress. You are the advocates of our dreams and the hope for a better tomorrow.
Here in our city, we continuously strengthen programs that support the rights and welfare of workers. From education and health programs to employment opportunities, we enhance the capabilities of each of us to succeed and live a better life.
To the workers of Cotabato, take pride in being part of our beloved community. Never forget that every achievement in our city—from simple projects to major developments—is because of your continuous support and dedication.
