
COTABATO CITY — The environmental partnership between the BARMM Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) and the City Government of Cotabato was further strengthened today, February 24, 2025, with the formal turnover of an Enviro-Asher unit at Cotabato City’s People’s Palace.
Procured under the Special Development Fund (SDF) 2023, the Enviro-Asher is a self-powered, non-combustion waste reduction equipment that utilizes advanced technology to minimize waste volume without relying on external power sources such as diesel or kerosene.

MENRE Minister Akmad A. Brahim highlighted the importance of the Enviro-Asher in enhancing Cotabato City’s solid waste management efforts and reinforcing the local government’s greening initiatives. He emphasized that this equipment will significantly contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for the city.
Secretary to the City Mayor Guianodin Abdilla, representing Cotabato City Mayor Bruce Matabalao, assured MENRE that the City Government will maximize the Enviro-Asher’s use for the benefit of Cotabateños and the environment. He reaffirmed the local government’s dedication to supporting the programs and initiatives of the Bangsamoro Government and MENRE for the region’s sustainable development.
